The farm

Printed in Austin, on printers we own

Bambu Lab H2S and P2S printers, each with a 4-tray AMS, in one Austin farm. We do not pass work to another farm or a broker: the system that quoted your file slices it, queues it and watches it print. The largest plate is 340×320×340mm; a bigger part has to be split into pieces before you upload it.

How many printers are on orders and how soon a new one would ship change through the day, so they are read from the farm as this page loads rather than typed in. The farm page has the full capacity panel.

Materials

What we print in, and what it costs

One all-in rate per gram covers the plastic and the machine time, and the grams come from slicing your actual file. The heat column matters more in Austin than most places: a part that is fine on a desk can sag on a dashboard in July.

Each part costs at least $1.00. Premium · 0.1mm layers cost 1.75x the rate. A filament you name for us to buy in is $0.20/g.
MaterialPer gram, all-inGood forIn Texas heat
PLA$0.12Display pieces, prototypes, figures, most indoor partsSoftens not far above 55 °C: not for a car or a sunny window
PETG$0.12Functional parts that must not snap, brackets, clips, things that hold waterBetter than PLA on heat; fine in a warm room, not an engine bay
ABS$0.12Warm environments, enclosures, parts you want to sand or drillThe usual choice for a car; chalks and yellows in sunlight
ASA$0.14Outdoor parts, signage, anything in year-round sunBest of the five for sun and weather
Flexible TPU$0.25Gaskets, grips, straps, phone cases, feetTreat it like PLA on heat

Want a number before you upload? The cost calculator works it out from a weight. The materials guide compares all five in detail.

Colours

12 colours on the shelf, and any other on request

These print at the material’s own rate. Any other colour is $0.20/g (Flexible TPU keeps its own $0.25/g), because we buy the spool in for your order. A Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer project can print in up to eight colours at once: see multicolour printing.

Files

What to upload

STL, GLB or 3MF, uploaded at /print:

  • STL: the safe default for a single part, from any CAD or sculpting tool.
  • 3MF: a model with real units, or a whole Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer project, which we can print in the colours you set up in it. A 3MF downloaded from MakerWorld is one of these.
  • A plate you sliced yourself, exported as .gcode.3mf: we print it exactly as exported.
  • GLB: what most AI and mesh tools export.
  • Not accepted: OBJ, STEP, bare .gcode. Export STL or 3MF from the same program instead.

No file at all? Describe the object at text to STL, or start from a picture at photo to 3D print.

Speed and shipping

How soon it reaches you

Two choices at checkout, and they add up. An Austin address travels by the same carrier service as any US order: there is no local courier, and no pickup option at checkout.

Print speedShips inCost
Normal print4–5 business daysIncluded
Priority print1–2 business days, printed ahead of normal orders$5, or 10% of the items when that is more
US shippingIn transitCost
Standard4–6 business days$7.00; free in the cart on orders of $49.50 or more
Express2–3 business days$15.00

Door to door, normal print with standard shipping comes to 8–11 business days, and priority print with express to 3–5 business days. For a big batch, bulk printing shows the live lead time for larger runs.

Limits

What we don't print

  • FDM (filament) printing only. No resin (SLA), powder (SLS or MJF), metal or CNC.
  • Nothing bigger than one plate in one piece: 340×320×340mm. A bigger part has to be split into pieces that fit before you upload it.
  • No design or reverse-engineering service: we print from a file you have, or from a model our AI generates.
  • No fixed turnaround beyond the print speed you buy at checkout.

Questions from Austin

Can I pick up my 3D print in Austin?

Not through the website: checkout ships every order it takes, and it has no pickup option. If collecting in Austin matters for your job, ask at /contact before you order. Pickup can only be set up by arrangement, on an order we enter for you by hand.

How fast can I get a 3D print in Austin?

You choose at checkout. Normal print ships in 4–5 business days; Priority print ($5, or 10% of the items when that is more) ships in 1–2 and is printed ahead of normal orders. An Austin address then travels by the same carrier service as any US order: US standard shipping is 4–6 business days in transit and express 2–3 business days. Priority print with express shipping comes to 3–5 business days door to door. The live lead time on /farm shows how busy the printers are right now.

How much does 3D printing cost per gram?

The per-gram rate is all-in, material and machine time together: PLA, PETG and ABS $0.12/g; ASA $0.14/g; Flexible TPU $0.25/g. A 21 g PLA part is 21 × $0.12 = $2.52. Premium · 0.1mm costs 1.75x the rate. A colour outside our 12 stock colours is $0.20/g (Flexible TPU keeps its own $0.25/g), and a print in 5 or more colours adds $25.00 once per order line. The grams come from slicing your actual file, so upload it at /print for the real figure, or estimate it from a weight at /3d-print-cost-calculator.

Is there a minimum order?

No order minimum and no setup fee. One part is a normal order. Each part costs at least $1.00, so a very small part is priced at that floor rather than by its weight.

Do I need an account to see a price?

No. Upload STL, GLB or 3MF at /print and the price is shown without signing in. You only need an account to place the order.

Will a PLA print survive a hot car in an Austin summer?

Not reliably. PLA begins to soften not far above 55 °C, and a closed car in a Texas summer passes that easily, as does a sunny windowsill. The part does not melt; it sags under its own weight. For anything that lives in a car choose ABS, at the same $0.12/g as PLA. For anything outdoors in year-round sun choose ASA, at $0.14/g, which is what it is made for. /docs/materials compares all five.

What can't you print?

We print FDM (filament) only, in PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, Flexible TPU. We do not offer resin (SLA), powder (SLS or MJF), metal or CNC. The largest plate is 340×320×340mm; a bigger part has to be split into pieces. OBJ files are not accepted for printing, so export STL or 3MF instead.

Do you do bulk or batch printing?

Yes. The quote applies volume pricing automatically: 5% off from 5 units, 10% off from 10 units, taken off the whole line. There is no tier above that on the website, so a larger recurring run is quoted directly through /contact. The capacity panel on /farm shows the live lead time for 10, 100 and 1,000 orders, and /bulk-3d-printing covers batch work in full.
