How does the AI 3D model generator work?+
Type a text prompt or upload a photo and X3D generates a 3D model: a Fast Draft from a text prompt takes about 20 to 30 seconds, and Hi-Fi a few minutes. Every model goes through a server-side printability review (watertight mesh, wall thickness, overhangs) and can be exported as STL, OBJ, or 3MF, or sent straight to our print farm.
Can I order a custom 3D print from my own file?+
Yes. Upload STL, GLB or 3MF at /print (a plate you sliced yourself goes in as .gcode.3mf), choose material (PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, or TPU) and color, and see the price straight away, worked out from the grams a real slice of your file measures. We print and ship from Austin, Texas: Normal print ships in 4–5 business days and Priority print in 1–2.
Do you have a 3D printing API?+
Yes. X3D offers a serverless print API — send a file plus a shipping address to our REST endpoint (or from AI agents via the API), pay automatically with a card on file, and we print and ship the order. Track status by order code. It's the print-and-ship API for developers and AI agents.
What materials and print quality do you offer?+
We print in PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, and flexible TPU on Bambu Lab H2S and P2S printers, with two qualities at /print, Standard · 0.2mm and Premium · 0.1mm. The print API takes any layer height its nozzle allows, 0.08mm to 0.28mm on a 0.4mm nozzle. The largest plate is 340×320×340mm.
Where do you ship from and how much is shipping?+
We print and ship from Austin, Texas. US shipping is $7 standard (4–6 business days, free over $49.50) or $15 express (2–3 business days); international is a flat $30 (free over $500). Those are transit times, and the clock starts when the box leaves: Normal print ships in 4–5 business days, Priority print in 1–2.
